Disney has released the official trailer for “A Christmas Carol” which has been done in “performance capture” technique (same as Polar Express). The film will re-tell the Charles Dicken’s classic like you’ve never seen it before with a digital Jim Carrey – as well as all others actors – all moving in digital decors of a Victorian London and in 3-D to boot.

During the recent D23 Expo, Walt Disney Parks and Resorts Chairman Jay Rasulo confirmed rumors regarding the Fantasyland expansion in Walt Disney World’s Magic Kingdom. Scheduled to be complete by 2013, this would be the largest expansion in the history of the Magic Kingdom and would vastly increasing the size of the existing Fantasyland.

This season is no different with an all-new Halloween overlay to be added to Space Mountain along with other additions and activities. During Walt Disney Parks and Resorts Chairman Jay Rasulo’s presentation on the future of Disney Park’s and resorts at the Disney D23 Expo in Anaheim, he confirmed what has been speculated for some time now: a new 3-D version of the tremendously-popular “Star Tours” attraction will debut at the Disneyland Resort and Disney’s Hollywood Studios in 2011.

It appears that Spider Man, Iron Man and other Marvel characters will now become part of the Disney family. Disney announced this morning that they are buying Marvel Entertainment which includes more than 5,000 Marvel characters.

Hong Kong Disneyland has planned a new attraction featuring a “alien invasion” theme for this year’s Haunted Halloween events which are expected to run from September 18 to October 31. “The (Alien Intelligence) Agency reported that a gigantic spaceship has landed inside Hong Kong Disneyland with signs of alien life detected onboard.”

Insider’s Guide to Disney World is reporting that Disney’s Animal Kingdom is testing a new FastPass distribution system. The general idea behind the new system is that a central location will be provided within the park (actually, there are two at Animal Kingdom) to get FastPasses for each FastPass eligible attraction.

Disney went before the Anaheim Planning Commission last week in order to pitch a plan to build an additional parking structure on land that they purchased eleven years ago. The site which used to be a strawberry field and located at 1946 S. Harbor Blvd., was purchased by Disney for a possible third theme park.
