Although there have been rumors that the Twilight Zone themed Tower of Terror in California Adventure would undergo a re-theming, many of us die-hard fans of the attraction were hoping that it was simply not true. But, alas, it is. The attraction will be re-themed to a Guardians of the Galaxy story-line.

Unique to Disneyland, is the famous Matterhorn Bobsleds, a roller coaster inside a mountain that made its debut in 1959 at Disneyland in Anaheim, California. It is the first tubular steel continuous track roller coaster ever constructed and is composed of two intertwining steel roller coasters. Disney Imagineers are working hard to put all the finishing touches on the new Cars land that is scheduled to open on June 15th this summer. Some of those finishing touches include classic neon signs. Disney has re-created the Radiator Springs seen in Cars and Cars2 including many of its iconic buildings as well as neon signs.

Disney spokesman John McClintock has confirmed that Cars Land, will open at Disney’s California Adventure in Summer 2012. The exact date will of course depends of all the ride tests that WDI will do on each Cars Land attractions. Additionally, The Orange County Register created a neat graphic which details what’s in store for the 12-acre addition to Disney’s California Adventure.
