Highlights include screenings of Sleeping Beauty in the Museum’s 114-seat auditorium and the premiere of Christmas with Walt Disney, a special holiday film showcasing Walt Disney’s Christmases past.
Disney Launches Online Destination for “Haunted Holidays”
Disney.com just launched a new destination for visitors related to their “Haunted Holidays.” The site features pages of your favorite Disney attractions including Haunted Mansion, Pirates of the Caribbean, Snow White and many more.
Disney Testing Reserved Table System at WDW Quick Service Dining Spots
Walt Disney World has implemented a reservation system at many of its “quick service” restaurants which not only allows them to seat guests quickly but allows them to see an increase in profits as well. The former practice of saving tables while another place an order for food is no longer allowed during times when the parks are experiencing peak traffic.

Built for approximately $110 million by the Disney family, the museum resides in the Presidio District of San Francisco.
Volunteer For a Day, Get Free Admission To a Disney Park
The Walt Disney Company revealed a new program today on Good Morning America that allows individuals to volunteer one day of service to a participating organization in exchange for one day of free admission to a Disney Park. It’s a first-of-its-kind program Disney is calling “Give a Day, Get a Disney Day.”
Movie Trailer for Disney’s “A Christmas Carol”
Disney has released the official trailer for “A Christmas Carol” which has been done in “performance capture” technique (same as Polar Express). The film will re-tell the Charles Dicken’s classic like you’ve never seen it before with a digital Jim Carrey – as well as all others actors – all moving in digital decors of a Victorian London and in 3-D to boot.
D23 Expo: Magic Kingdom Fantasyland Expansion Concept Art
During the recent D23 Expo, Walt Disney Parks and Resorts Chairman Jay Rasulo confirmed rumors regarding the Fantasyland expansion in Walt Disney World’s Magic Kingdom. Scheduled to be complete by 2013, this would be the largest expansion in the history of the Magic Kingdom and would vastly increasing the size of the existing Fantasyland.

Each year it seems as though the Disneyland Resort gets more into the Halloween holiday. This season is no different with an all-new Halloween overlay to be added to Space Mountain along with other additions and activities. Disney has even put together a commercial done in classic animation inviting guest to visit the parks during the Halloween season.

During Walt Disney Parks and Resorts Chairman Jay Rasulo’s presentation on the future of Disney Park’s and resorts at the Disney D23 Expo in Anaheim, he confirmed what has been speculated for some time now: a new 3-D version of the tremendously-popular “Star Tours” attraction will debut at the Disneyland Resort and Disney’s Hollywood Studios in 2011.

Disney’s official community for Disney fans – D23, has announced a lineup of special events for Fall 2009 which include the first viewing of “The Princess and the Frog,” the opportunity to go behind the scenes of the amazing productions of The Lion King and Mary Poppins and back by popular demand, the legendary lot at The Walt Disney Studios and Walt Disney Archives will be open for guided tours.
Castaway Cay Getting an Extra Dose of Pixie Dust
Castaway Cay, Disney’s private island paradise in the tropical waters of the Bahamas, is getting an extra dose of pixie dust. Enhancements will provide guests with more water-based family-fun, additional conveniences and a slice of beachside luxury all designed to complement the idyllic island setting.

Besides the already great list of activities planned for Disney’s first ever D23 Expo, Oscar-winning actor Robin Williams, the extraordinary actresses of The Golden Girls, the voices of Donald Duck and Goofy, and other incomparable contributors to the Disney legacy will be honored on September 10 at the 2009 Disney Legends Awards.

It appears that Spider Man, Iron Man and other Marvel characters will now become part of the Disney family. Disney announced this morning that they are buying Marvel Entertainment which includes more than 5,000 Marvel characters.
“Alien Invasion” Planned for Halloween at Hong Kong Disneyland
Hong Kong Disneyland has planned a new attraction featuring a “alien invasion” theme for this year’s Haunted Halloween events which are expected to run from September 18 to October 31. “The (Alien Intelligence) Agency reported that a gigantic spaceship has landed inside Hong Kong Disneyland with signs of alien life detected onboard.”
