The Disney/Pixar animated movie “Cars” introduced some iconic characters – Lightning McQueen, Doc Hudson, Sally Carrera and of course the lovable Mater. The sequel to the ever popular Cars animated movie will bring back some of our favorites including Lighting McQueen and Mater as they head overseas to compete in the first-ever World Grand Prix. Cars 2 will introduce several new characters as well.
Interactivity Coming To Haunted Mansion in Walt Disney World
The Haunted Mansion in Walt Disney World Florida is getting some new technology. A new exterior “Next Generation” queue is in the works and the end of the attraction itself has received a bit of a makeover. Both additions will add some interactivity to the famous attraction.

Following the rave reviews of Destination D: Disneyland ’55, D23 has announced Destination D: Walt Disney World 40th Anniversary, to be held on May 14 and May 15, 2011. The event will celebrate the 40th anniversary of the Orlando resort, its history and heritage.

Disney Dream Floats Out of Meyer Werft Dock For First Time
Disney Cruise Line’s first new ship in more than a decade, the Disney Dream, was floated out today from a dry dock in Papenburg, Germany. Large crowds of cruise ship fans lined the waterfront at the Meyer Werft shipyard to watch the 128,000-ton vessel emerge from the covered dock for the first time, erupting into cheers as it cleared the structure.

This is the first time that the “enhanced” Mickey character, which has a moving mouth and blinking eyes, will routinely appear in front of visitors at Disneyland Resort as he plays a central role in “Disney Dance Crew” that debuts Friday at California Adventure.
