If Walt Disney were alive, he’d be celebrating his 107th birthday today. The man who has brought magic to so many lives was born this day (December 5) in the year of 1901 and in the town of Chicago, Illinois. Even though he has been gone for almost 42 years now, he is still alive in the hearts of so many people.
I thought it fitting to feature some of the famous quotes Uncle Walt (as he was called) has been known for throughout the years. Enjoy!
“All our dreams can come true, if we have the courage to pursue them.”
“All the adversity I’ve had in my life, all my troubles and obstacles, have strengthened me… You may not realize it when it happens, but a kick in the teeth may be the best thing in the world for you.”
“Animation offers a medium of story telling and visual entertainment which can bring pleasure and information to people of all ages everywhere in the world.”
“Crowded classrooms and half-day sessions are a tragic waste of our greatest national resource – the minds of our children.”
“Disneyland will never be completed. It will continue to grow as long as there is imagination left in the world.”
“I do not like to repeat successes, I like to go on to other things.”
“I have been up against tough competition all my life. I wouldn’t know how to get along without it.”
“I have no use for people who throw their weight around as celebrities, or for those who fawn over you just because you are famous.”
“I only hope that we don’t lose sight of one thing – that it was all started by a mouse.”
“If you can dream it, you can do it.”
“Laughter is America’s most important export.”
“The way to get started is to quit talking and begin doing.”
“We keep moving forward, opening new doors, and doing new things, because we’re curious and curiosity keeps leading us down new paths.”

Happy Birthday Walt and thanks for all the magic and the memories.
